Ho and I didn't pass my car test till 1984. Yep so for you, Q means no speed restrictions apply if it's a proper moped with bicycle pedals as a second form of propulsion.

Did you try Footman James? I checked a few via their websites, didn't talk to the expensive ones. I phoned R & H, they want me to take CBT. I don't mind doing that, I'd like to get a full licence eventually, just can't take any test right now. Cheers

Footman James are good and understand the market. Also add an extra bike for a simple admin fee.

It may be different for New Customers, I haven't had a moped or any bike on the road for 30 years, so it makes sense to take CBT anyway, and Insurers seem to be reinforcing that.

Hi did you tell r and h.it was a classic moped you would be riding.and always best mention if you are a member of a club.aswell.👍 Yes, really nice chap there, very interested in the old Cady, I mentioned EACC, but still told me to re-apply after taking CBT to get best rate, and gave me an estimate of around £90, with option to add more bikes later for a nominal Admin fee. I'm booking CBT as soon as we get out of lockdown. Cheers

Well Mike I found FJ and PJ more expensive than r+h.for riding my bikes on a car licence and being a club member.

I find Footman James very helpful and it cost me £100 for two (or one) buikes this year but then they are a broker and that includes their commission. EACC memebership gets a discount but be aware your insurance will be invalid if you leave the club and dont tell your insurer whoever you choose.

Just went through the tedious process of entering all the details for online quotes, for just one bike, with Footman James and, for comparison, also with Adrian Flux (I have a kit car insured with AFlux ). FJames quoted me £ 100.58 AFlux quoted £ 87.20 including free Legal Protection, both without any Club membership or CBT, both mention including their Broker fee of £15. R&H could possibly be a bit cheaper, but insisted on CBT, so I'd have to wait until I could take that. Unfortunately, local CBT centres are closed due to lockdown.

That's solved your problem then, AFlux £87.20 with no CBT, i'll be using them next time as thats cheaper than Peter James i use, thanks.
