My multi bike police just came up for renewal, Kawasaki ER-5 and a Suzuki C800 Intruder. Bennetts was best quote at £139.00 Comprehensive, so I went online and added my Mobylette 50cc to the policy - Price went up to £148.00. So - Free tax, MOT exempt and comprehensive insurance for £9.00 . Very Happy!!!

That's a great deal! I've tried multibike insurance, it always works out cheaper to individually insure them for some reason, including when I've tried a policy with just mopeds

Insurance companies are strange animals, Carol Nash wanted £230.00 just to insure the Suzuki, yet Benetts did all three for £148.00. Do they just make it up as they go along?

On a similar vein, we are changing our camper van - current insurance £392, price with same insurer for new vehicle £800! Alternative quote (same cover) £426. It's crazy, don't you think companies should try and keep you as a customer.

I don't get this, why is the cheapest I've found £70 per moped. If I bunch them on multibike it's about £85 per bike.

My Fireblade with 180bhp is only about £40 more than a moped!

Peter James for me, less than £100 for 4 peds, BMW R65ls and RD400...
...all classics.
One thing that did come up recently, you may struggle to get proof of NCD if buying another bike and insuring it separately (eg. a new BMW/Triumph/Honda)

I recently asked PJs how much NCD I had. They told me that I could only claim 4 years as the policy I have doesn't accrue NCD, it's just a good collectors policy.
I actually have Max NCD, but can only prove the above as anything renewal wise is over 3 years old and the stated NCD is invalid...
Win some loose some..

Why would you struggle, NCD usually come up on your renewal letter? These 'classic' policies don't have any no claims discount ... over the decades I've had policies with Carole Nash, Footman James, and Peter James; they were all the same in this respect.

Ah right, mine is not a specific "classic" policy, I just tagged on the Moby as an after thought.

Insurance companies are ripping us off especially on renewals.
I am with LV and they sent a renewal notice through with a substantial increase including another year of no claims discount.
I went on Comparethenmarket.com and for the same policy for the same car with the same NCD with LV it was considerably cheaper than last year!
Phoned and asked why. Lame excuse about the comparison sites doing their own pricing for the insurance company(?) We are trying to sort that out he commented. He then said you can have it at the lower price. As it was about the best price I went with it. I said so next year (this year)your renewal price will match what is quoted on the comparison site. Err should do he said. Guess what it did not!

Well done ray yep always best to shop around.and for the life of me as you guys know by or now N.C.D. not worth claiming as the average premium goes up by about 8% every year and all this bullshit they fob you off with we are only brokers now that's cobblers as well as all insurance companies are under written by loydds of London.?
